They don't come with a manual, but...
Parents of newborns get a flood of advice - often unsolicited -
from their parents, friends and coworkers. And if that's not enough, they have a slew of parenting books
to choose from.
In The New Basics, A-to-Z Baby & Child Care for the Modern
Parents (Regan Books/Harper Collins, $24.95), pediatrician
Dr. Michel Cohen keeps it simple, telling you when to worry as well
as when not to.
The book is organized alphabetically by topic and follows Coehn's philosophy
of avoiding unnecessary medical intervention. "Less medecine is often the best medecine," he writes.
