Soap
Much controversy surrounds the use of soap. Recent studies have shown that soap’s antibacterial action contributes to the global growth of especially resistant germs. Still, soap companies have a vested interest in peddling obsessive cleanliness, so they cultivate our obsession with soap. For a baby, soap is just pointless. Babies aren’t dirty, and to the extent that they come into contact with dirt, washing with plain water is absolutely fine. Soap removes natural skin oil, which can in turn lead to eczema and diaper rashes.
