Sore Throat

Sore throats have many causes, including the famous strep bacterium, mononucleosis, and herpangina. Flus and colds can also irritate the throat with repetitive coughing. Whatever the cause of the sore throat, pain medication will relieve it. The only sore throat that warrants antibiotic treatment is strep throat, which can be diagnosed by your doctor with a rapid test.
