Walkers

You probably took your first steps in a walker. Years ago, baby walkers were everywhere, but these days they are hard to find in stores, due to fears of injury. Not only can a kid fall down the stairs while using a walker, but also prolonged usage has been found to temporarily bow toddlers’ legs and actually delay walking. Even if you don’t have stairs, walkers are a mixed blessing. They give very young children the power to go places they shouldn’t go and touch things they shouldn’t touch. But if you’re vigilant about all these dangers and like the idea of a walker, you could always smuggle one in for Lucy. The physical repercussions are somewhat overstated; unless you leave her in the device for eight hours a day, her legs won’t become bowed, and she’ll learn to walk just fine.
